Municipal Light Board Ward 3 Candidate
Name: Rob Brogle
Address: 108 Mountain View St.
Occupation: Director of Technical Sales, The Collins Companies, Collinspipe.com and President, Connecticut Trolley Museum, cttrolley.org
What experience do you bring to this position?
25+ years of management, sales, and technical advisory experience to utilities, chemical companies, and engineering firms. I’ve spent more than half of my life helping companies save significant amounts of money, and I’d like to help WG&E/WCF and our residents and businesses do the same.
Why is having a municipal utility an asset to the city?
Municipal utilities like WG&E promote better service and much lower rates, which helps residents with budgeting, and attracts new businesses to Westfield. Additionally, WCF promotes the same, and gives Westfield a much greater chance of supporting current and future tech savvy businesses. I am a huge believer in the municipal utility concept!
Why should residents vote for you?
It comes down to experience and transparency. I’m the only candidate in the Ward 3 race with a significant technical/utility background. If elected, my top 3 priorities will be:
1. I will reintroduce a tabled resolution to record/stream WG&E/WCF monthly meetings. Such transparency is demanded by our residents!
2. Making sure Westfield residents have WCF service first! I want WCF to finish introduction of their product to Ward 3 (and other)Westfield residents and businesses before we continue wiring other communities.
3. Encouraging WG&E/WCF to increase the ILOT (In Lieu of Tax) payment to the city, thus ensuring lower taxes on residences and businesses.
I’m ready to further introduce fiscal responsibility and transparency to WG&E/WCF, and our residents deserve experienced representation.
