Robert F. Killam

WESTFIELD – Robert Frank Killam, 86, passed away at home peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on May 9, 2019. Robert was born in Springfield, MA on March 11, 1933. Robert served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve during Korea, from 1950-1952. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Dorothy M. (Ruebenstahl) Killam in 2016, his parents Howard and Gladys (Robinson) Killam and his sister Barbara (Killam) Morepath. Robert leaves his children David (Anne) Killam, Brian (Gail) Killam, Laura (Ken) Smigel and Lynne Killam and her partner David Hicks, his loving grandchildren, Ashley Smigel, Chris Smigel, Cody Killam, Shawn Killam and Matt and Dan Killam and his great grandson Jonathan.

Robert was a skilled tool and die maker beginning his career at Berkshire Industries. In 1969 Robert started his own business, K&B Tool of Westfield. Robert operated his successful business for 48 years, retiring in 2017 at the age of 84. Robert enjoyed antique cars and was a longtime member of the Western Mass Model T Club. He spent decades going on annual trips to Hershey, PA with his car buddies. Robert was also a member of the American Legion Post 124 in Westfield. He had a great sense of humor and a kind heart.

Services for Robert will be held on Wednesday at 10AM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA 01085 followed by burial in New Cemetery, College Highway, Southwick. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 PM in the funeral home. His family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Baystate Hospice for their care and support of Robert.
