WESTFIELD – Robert John Puza (1937 – 2022) died December 23, 2022 at Noble Hospital after a short illness. He was born May 3, 1937 to Charles and Angeline (Jusczynski) Puza. A graduate of Westfield Vocational High School, he served his country in the United States Army including a tour of duty in Germany. He worked for Bendix Abrasives and retired from JenCoat. Bob liked to fish and hunt, bowl, play cards, and golf. He belonged to the Holy Trinity Church Golf League and Card League for many years where he was known as “The Coyote”, a familiar howl would be heard after a nice bid or set! The Coyote especially loved to bring in the hay or run for parts for his favorite nephew, Chip Kielbasa. He spent many hours with his friends, meeting at the Meadow Street Coffee Shop, Dunkin Donuts, the Beagle Club, the Sportsman’s Club, and driving around to visit his family and friends. Bob spent many hours volunteering at Holy Trinity Church where he was a life-long member.
Bob leaves to cherish his memory his brother Michael of Lakeland, FL, his niece, Sandra Kielbasa with whom he lived, nephews Joseph and Charles Kielbasa, and niece Mary Jane Smith, all of whom grew up with him in the family home. He leaves many special cousins, nieces and nephews. Bob also leaves his dear friends, Chet and Linda Zielienski, Danny Liptak, Chucky LaFond, and Frank Kamilowski, as well as special neighbors. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Edward, Frederick, Wesley, and Richard (his twin) and his sisters, Jane Kielbasa and Frances Sasur.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022. A calling hour will be held from 8:30 – 10:00 at Firtion Adams Funeral Service, Broad St., Westfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Church, 333 Elm Street, Westfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to Holy Trinity Church, 335 Elm St., Westfield 01085 or to the Massachusetts Outdoor Heritage Foundation, P.O. Box 47, Westborough, MA 01581.
