
HOLYOKE – Robert T. Smyk, 89, (1936-2025) longtime resident of Westfield, MA passed away on Saturday, October
18th, 2025. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was the youngest of nine children and predeceased by his five brothers and three sisters.
Bob served his country with the Massachusetts Army National Guard, member of the Knights of Columbus, and was employed at Vitrified Wheel before retiring from Sears.
Bob always had a song to sing and a story to tell — he brought joy and laughter wherever he went. Upon retirement, Bob continued singing in the choir, was active in ballroom dancing, and employed as driver at the Sisters of Divine Providence, Holyoke.
He is survived by his loving wife Carleen (Banca) Smyk and two daughters, Barbara Reynolds (Richard) and Theresa Monahan (Larry); two grandsons Justin Reynolds (Fernanda) and Benjamin Reynolds (Ciara); granddaughter Elizabeth Monahan; and four great-grandchildren.
