STUART, FL – Robert W. Socolosky, beloved husband of Mary Ann Galetta Liptak, recently married for 37 years.
Born December 9th, 1930, in Hartford CT to Wesley and Mary Socolosky. A graduate of Windsor High School, and Porter School of Design, and Hillard College for Technical Illustration. Bob was a Veteran of the Army 983 Combat Corp. of Engineers during the Korean War Conflict. Employed by Hamilton Standard, a division of United Technologies, for 33 years. He retired to Florida where he attended the University of Florida to become a master gardener within Martin County District. As an advisor of horticulture, he worked for Home Depot for many years advising on plant species and techniques, as well as rejoicing in teaching classes to local public elementary and pre-school children on the “cycle of life” of plants and flowers to raise awareness.
He leaves behind his best friend and love of his life, wife Mary Ann, daughter Lynn, mother of three from Connecticut, two stepdaughters, Cheryl (Dimitrios) Peroulakis of Hobe Sound FL, and Laura (Stephen) Cressotti of Westfield MA, and an additional stepson Paul Liptak of Westfield MA. In addition, fifteen additional grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. As well as many supporting family members and friends in which Bob embraced.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 2100 SE Cove Road, Stuart, FL, with Military Honors. Visitation will follow the Mass at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home, 950 SE Monterey Road, Stuart, FL from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
