Ronald A. Moltenbrey

GLEN MILLS, PA: Ronald A. Moltenbrey, age 89, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Russell and Westfield, MA, died on November 6, 2015 at Rose Court-Continuing Care at Maris Grove. He was the son of Mildred (Lore) and Albert Moltenbrey. Brothers Roger and Jack Moltenbrey preceded Ronald in death.

Ronald graduated Westfield High School and Worcester Polytech Institute with a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering. Ron worked for DuPont for 35 years and was instrumental in the invention of CORFAM (synthetic leather) for which he held a patent. Following his retirement from DuPont, Ron was a consultant at Rodel continuing his involvement with CORFAM.

During World War II, Ronald served in the Navy (1944-1946) as an Aviation Electronic Technician’s Mate-second class stationed in San Antonio, TX as an instructor.

Ronald also enjoyed sports, mainly golf and bowling. While living at Maris Grove (Retirement Community), Ron participated and ran the Maris Grove Golf Club. He received an award of appreciation for his outstanding volunteer service for the Center for the Creative Arts located in Yorklyn, DE.

Ronald was the husband of Phyllis A. (Clark) Moltenbrey who passed away in January 2015. They had recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Ron is survived by his son Skip Moltenbrey, daughter-in-law Melissa and granddaughter Kristen Moltenbrey, all of Sanford, NC and his sister-in-law Dale N. Clark and Dale’s partner, Robert Betts of Westfield, MA. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins from NH, PA and NY. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
