WESTIELD – Rose M. (Wojcek) Placzek, 93, died at home on July 12. She was born in Westfield on August 22, 1922 the daughter of the late Stanley and Esther (Lisak) Wojcek. She was a proud 1940 graduate of Westfield High School and was a devoted lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Church in Westfield. Rose was a sweet and special soul to all who knew her well. Her remarkable sense of humor and precious enjoyment of life remained strong until death. Rose was pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 71 years, Fred P. Placzek and her son Daniel Placzek. She was also pre-deceased by her wonderful sisters Stella, Sally, Helen, Katherine, Ann and her brother Stanley. Rose is survived by her daughter Jane Borsetti and husband Michael of Sebago, ME and her two outstanding grandchildren Moriah Borsetti of Portland, ME and Gunnar Borsetti of Harrison, ME and her brother Edward Wojcek and wife Phyllis, along with many close nieces and nephews and their families. Rose will be honored on Saturday at a private graveside service at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Baystate Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice for their compassion and kindness, allowing Rose to remain in the comfort of her cherished home and neighborhood.
