Roy A. Johnson

SOUTHWICK: Roy A. Johnson Jr. 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Roy was born in Westfield on June 1, 1929 to the late Roy A. Johnson Sr. and Aurore E. (Duval) Johnson.

He was raised in Southwick and Westfield, graduating from Westfield High School in 1947. Roy was employed by numerous car dealerships; Pease Chrysler Plymouth in Westfield, Regency Oldsmobile in Westfield and finally Cook Motor Sales in Chicopee before retiring in 1996. He also worked for Frank’s Auto Repair in Westfield, Fenton Chevrolet in Westfield and then finally in the parts department of Balise Motor Group from 1996-2009 following his retirement. Roy was also in the Air National Guard for 7 years at Barnes Air Force Base. He loved to roller skate in his free time and enjoyed airplanes, motorcycles and his 27 Chevy.

Roy is predeceased by his wife Marilyn (Piper), his brothers William and Norman Johnson as well as his sister Kathleen Polley. Roy is survived by his son James F. Johnson of Southwick, his sisters Deborah Alexa of Windsor Locks, CT and Judith Ramsdell of Belen, New Mexico. Roy also leaves many nieces and nephews.

The visiting hours for Roy will be on Friday March 4, 2022 from 4-7PM in the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA 01085. The funeral will be Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 11AM in St. John’s Lutheran Church 60 Broad Street, Westfield, MA 01085. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in the spring.
