SOUTHWICK: Sally E. Killips, (1947-2021) beloved wife, mother, “grammy” and friend passed away at the age of 73 on April 18th, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA.

Born and raised in Westfield, MA, Sally graduated from Westfield State.

Sally married Joseph Killips on August 12, 1967. They would have been celebrating their 54th wedding anniversary this year. Their love was inspirational to their daughters and grandkids.

Survived by her husband, Joseph Killips, her daughters Sharon L. Alexander and her husband Patrick Alexander, and Jennifer Diamond and her husband Dave Diamond, and her adored grandchildren Olivia Diamond and Rachel Diamond; they will have a lifetime of “grammy” memories.

Sally was an amazing wife, mom, “grammy”, and friend. She was an amazingly talented wildlife artist and garden designer. She had a wicked sense of humor, contagious laugh, and loved all of her family and friends. Sally was always there for those she loved. She loved everything nature, gardening, bird watching, or simply sitting with her husband on their deck gazing into their gorgeously landscaped backyard. Sally enjoyed many endless pastimes – painting, rug hooking, embroidery, pottery . . . she was just a natural at everything she put her love into.

Sally is the strongest person we know and we will remember her through the memories in our hearts.

There will be no public services. Sally’s family will hold a private family gathering to honor and celebrate her legacy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Dakin Humane Society in memory of Sally. Please make checks or money orders payable to Dakin Humane Society, PO Box 6307 Springfield, MA 01101. Online donations may be made at www.dakinhumane.org. Sally’s daughter Jennifer and her family Dave, Olivia, and Rachel have provided fostering services for cats and kittens through Dakin Humane for a few years now. Mom was so proud of them, as she was of all of us.

“To those who see bare branches, and know they hold the buds of spring.
To those who see falling stars from the heavens and know the constellations will remain forever.
To those who see long lines of geese far beyond and know they come back again to nest.
To those who see with wonder in their hearts and know what glories there can be,
for those who see
