WESTFIELD – Sandra R. Litwak, 83, (1943–2026) peacefully passed away on October 28th, 2026, at her home with her loving daughter, Mary, by her side. Born in Westfield, MA on June 14th, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen S. (Bannish) Sedowicz. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Westfield, MA and completed her nursing program at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Springfield, MA with honors.
For many years, Sandra, as a Registered Nurse, worked in Labor and Delivery at Noble Hospital. She later worked as a nurse providing in-home health care. In her spare time, she enjoyed bible teaching, ceramics, shopping, training her canine companion, and watching wholesome television, including Little House on the Prairie and later Sue Thomas: F.B. Eye, snuggling with her two kitties. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, whether on vacations or celebrating her favorite time of year, Christmas.
Besides her parents, Sandra was predeceased by her brother Frank Sedowicz. To cherish her memory, she leaves her children John Litwak, Brian Litwak and his wife Shirley, Wayne Litwak and Mary Cyr and her husband Douglas; her grandchildren Tyler, Josh, Josiah, Becky, Amanda, Jessica, and Jordan; her great-grandchildren Joey and Kristy; her best friend Theresa Seklecki, her husband Matthew, their children Amanda, Michael, Matthew and Catie, as well as many extended family members and her wonderfully kind caregivers, Laura and Cindy.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, November 4th, 2026, from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. at Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 624 College Highway, Southwick. A funeral home service will be held at 12 p.m. followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Road, Westfield.
