State Senator Don Humason, R-2nd Hampden & Hampshire District, was presented the Walter J. Zarichak Legislator of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award by the Hampden County American Legion on Saturday at the Charles C. Kennedy Post in Chicopee.
The award was given to Humason by American Legion Past National Commander Jake Comer in recognition of the Senator’s dedication to supporting veterans’ legislation that has enhanced the way of life for all veterans and their families.
“I am humbled yet proud,” Senator Humason said. “Any good I can do as a citizen or as a Senator to help our military service members or our veterans I try to do.”
Humason is the state senator for the Soldiers Home in Holyoke and the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam and serves on the Joint Committee for Veteran and Federal Affairs.
Senator Humason represents the 2nd Hampden and Hampshire District, which consists of Agawam, Southwick, Granville, Tolland, Russell, Montgomery, Easthampton, Southampton, Chicopee, Westfield, and Holyoke in the Massachusetts State Senate.
