WESTFIELD – Balloons. Flowers. All that was missing was the confetti.
The Westfield High School girls’ basketball team took full advantage of senior night Monday, defeating Chicopee Comp 57-50.
Senior Karly Mastello recorded a double-double for Westfield. Mastello knocked down 18 points, and hauled in 10 rebounds. She went 8-for-8 from the free throw line and some big threes down the stretch to help the Bombers pull away.

Mastello was not alone in her effort.
Westfield’s Alicia Arnold, also a senior, scored 15 points, including four 3-pointers. Bombers’ Alexa Morin (4 rebounds) netted 15 points, as well.
Westfield improved to 12-6 overall. The Bombers next play at Sabis Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Rams rout Panthers
Southwick 46, Cathedral 32

Ashley Shea and Morgan Harriman scored nine points apiece to lead Southwick to a convincing victory.
Katelyn Silvia finished with eight points for the Rams, who improved to 15-4.

BOYS’ HOOPS
Pacers surge past WHS
Chicopee 62, Westfield 55

Chicopee scored nine of the game’s final 11 points to defeat Westfield Monday night. Darrick Boyd led the Pacers with 22 points.
Westfield’s Isaiah Headley scored a team-high 16 points, and Richie Barnett had 15.

BOYS’ ICE HOCKEY
4 players x 2 goals each = WHS win
Westfield 8, South Hadley 3

Chris Sullivan, John Danahey, Zach Jarvis, and Liam Whitman scored two goals apiece in Westfield’s road rout of South Hadley at Fitzpatrick Arena.
Sullivan also had two assists.
The Bombers improved to 12-3-3 overall.

BOYS’ HOOPS
Gateway 68, Pathfinder 54

Three players reached double digits in the scoring column – Peter Kowal (18), Brett Turban (15), and Shane Mastello (12) – to lift Gateway.
Pathfinder’s Andrew Roman had a game-high 33.
