WESTFIELD: Shawn P. Whalen (Pipes) age 40, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, July 31. He was born on June 16, 1981 to Michael P. and Suzanne (Davis) Whalen.
He loved spending time with his son, family and friends. He loved playing baseball and soccer and was a huge Red Sox and Patriots fan. Giving dollar bills to his little cousins was a highlight at the family parties.
Shawn leaves his son Colin Patrick and his mother Kathryn Murphy, his parents Mike and Sue Whalen, his brother Michael and his wife Jenn Whalen, brother James and his wife Heidi Whalen, nephew Tyler, niece Katherine, grandmother Stacia Whalen, and many loving cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
The calling hours for Shawn will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 4-7 PM in the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA 01085 followed by a service at 7 PM. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 10 AM in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shawn’s name may be made to his son Colin P.
