SOUTHWICK – The Southwick Council on Aging held it’s annual Halloween party on Wednesday morning.
Several Southwick senior citizens who were dressed as anything from clowns, Minnie Mouse, a doctor, and even the cat burglar, who ended up winning the best costume prize, attended Wednesday morning’s festivities.
Many young children from Southwick who attended were accompanied by a parent or guardian and were given candy by the seniors who were very excited to see all of the kids dressed up in costumes.
“What I see on the kids faces is great,” said Nancy Bridges.
Dee Girard, who was dressed up as a clown and was seen blowing bubbles to entertain the kids, enjoyed seeing them ask for candy.
“They’re adorable,” said Girard. “They’re just so precious.”
Council on Aging Director Cindy Sullivan began this party when she started in her position six years ago. She enjoys seeing the seniors and the children celebrate a fun holiday together.
“It’s fun,” said Sullivan. “It’s another inter-generational activity that we enjoy doing.”
