SOUTHWICK – The school committee meeting scheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the regional high school auditorium was cancelled earlier that day due to the weather conditions expected that evening.
The Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, Amy McLaughlin, notified school faculty, town officials, and media outlets in regards to the cancellation. The meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. in the regional high school auditorium.
The key item of discussion will be the school feasibility study and ongoing talks about the Granville Village School.
On the school committee’s agenda for the meeting is an educational presentation with the select board members of both Southwick and Granville. Tolland Select Board members are also invited.
The vote on whether to keep the Granville Village School open or to close it is scheduled for the school committee meeting next Tuesday, Feb. 7.
After the select boards from the communities are done discussing, Rich Labrie of Public Management Associates will give his transportation study on the school district.
