Southwick students to visit England, France

SOUTHWICK – Students at Southwick Regional School will have the opportunity to visit France and England next spring.
SRS English Chair Janet Grunwald presented a proposal to the school committee this week outlining a historical tour of the two countries in April of 2017.
“We’ll start in London and go to Normandy and Versailles,” she said.
Visits include several World War II sites.
“It’s an opportunity for students to see things in England and France that tie into the curriculum,” said Grunwald.
The trip is set for April 14-23 with advisors Grunwald, Kristin Tetrault and Caren Harrington. Students in grades 10-12 are eligible and Grunwald said the tour would be through EF Educational Tours, a company the school has used in the past.
The cost is approximately $3,000 for students.
“If people sign up by the end of January, EF gives a $200 discount,” Grunwald said.
An informational meeting for students and parents is planned before the end of the month so individulas can take advantage of the discount.
