SOUTHWICK – VFW Post 872 will be holding their 2nd Annual Wild Game Dinner on May 5 at Post 872 at 4 p.m.
After a successful first Wild Game Dinner taking place last year, Post 872 decided to keep the event going.

“It was a great success,” said VFW Post 872 Chairman Troy Henke. “This is something we would like to keep doing annually.”
Although the event was in the winter last year, Post 872 couldn’t do it at the same time this year due to the bar at Post 872 closing in February and having to deal with the aftermath of that.
According to Henke, the wild game dinner will feature a variety of venison dishes, as well as goose and duck. While members of Post 872 prepare the majority of the meal, the public attending the event also assist with the dinner.

Tickets for the game dinner cost $20 and can also be purchased at the door on the day of the event. Along with a 50/50 raffle being included at the event, all of the proceeds from the raffle and admission will go back to VFW Post 872 in order to help support what they do in the community.
