Stacia M. Kendzior

WESTFIELD – Stacia “Stella” M. (Lewandowski) Kendzior, 88, died Monday, September 10, 2012 in a local nursing home. She was born on May 26, 1924 in Suffield, Ct to the late Joseph and Emily (Stankowich) Lewandowski.
She grew up in Suffield and attended local schools. She has lived in Westfield for the past 67 years. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader when her children were young. Stella worked for Old Colony Envelope Co. in Westfield for 25 years, and was an envelope inspector, retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Westfield.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward F. Kendzior in 1996. She leaves her daughters, Nora E. Coach and her husband Robert of Westfield, and Jann K. VanderWolk and her husband Jonathan of Margate, FL; her brother, Joseph Lewin and his wife Patricia of New Hartford, CT; her sister, Frances Ouellette of Newington, CT; two grandchildren, Jon and Jessica VanderWolk. She also leaves her sister-in-laws, Helen Brusco of Allendale, NJ and Rose Kendzior of Leeds, MA and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Michael Lewandowski and a sister, Rose Deasy. The family would like to thank the staff at Renaissance Manor Nursing Home for their kindness, understanding and compassion during Stacia’s stay.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 15th at 10:00 a.m. in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 60 Broad Street, Westfield. A calling hour will precede the service in the church from 9:00-10:0 a.m. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
