State single-family home sales on the rise

BOSTON — The number of single-family homes sold in Massachusetts in November surged when compared to the same month a year ago, while median prices also rose year over year.
The Warren Group, which tracks the market, on Tuesday reported a more than 10 percent year-over-year jump in sales. The Massachusetts Realtors Association said sales jumper more than 8 percent in November compared to November 2014, the sixth consecutive month of year-over year sales increases.
The Warren Group said the median price inched up more than 2 percent last month to $332,000. The Realtors reported a nearly 5 percent increase in the median price to $345,000.
The organizations use slightly different numbers in their calculations.
Both groups also reported strong sales numbers and median prices in the condominium market.
