Thomas W. Yourous

SOUTHWICK – Thomas W. Yourous, 71, of Southwick, MA, beloved husband of Karen (Wlazlo) Yourous, departed peacefully from this life on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Noble Hospital, Westfield, after a courageous battle with cancer, with his loving family at his bedside. Born on March 5, 1942, in Springfield, MA, he was the son of Norma (Battistoni) Yourous of Southwick, and the late John H. Yourous.
Tom lived in the house he built for the past 20 years in Southwick, and prior to his retirement in 2010, he worked for NAPA Auto Parts in Southwick. He enjoyed several hobbies which included radio control cars, trucks and helicopters, restoring automobiles and trucks, but mostly he enjoyed his guitar music, in which his whole family participated in.
Besides his wife of 31 years and his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Lorianna Hutchins of Windham, CT; his son, Justin T. Yourous of Gilbert, AZ; his grandsons, Travis Hutchins of New Britain, CT and Damon Hutchins of South Windsor, CT; his siblings, Marianne Anderzak and her husband Tom of Dearborn, MI,  Bette Blanchard of Southwick,  Barbara Bowen of Granby, CT, Lucille delCampo and her husband Richard of Granby, CT, Joanne Yourous of Southwick, and  John R “Jack” Yourous of Southwick; his sister and brother-in-law, MaryBeth and Donald Desrosiers of Ocoee, FL; his devoted friends, Rose Swochak, Bill and Valarie Crowell, Bryce Kay, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Jared J. Yourous, his father, John H. Yourous, and his in-laws, Frank J. Wlazlo and Linda L. Hanks.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 224 Sheep Pasture Road, Southwick, MA 01077.
