Hello Westfield and all you good folks in Ward 3.  As said I have some serious trust issues with Pres. Trump.  He is piece by piece taking out the Checks and Balances that enable our nation’s many diverse functions, and diverse people to coexist, in a stable social economic condition.  One of the current one’s being attacked is the ability to get rid of Federal employees that:  “do not do their job!”  OK, we have mixed thinking about whistle blowers.  But, they can be vital.  Most credible ones do so when what is being asked of them can have a real adverse impact; as The Pentagon Papers, or Nixon’s abuse of power.  As such, the firing of public employees, who may be reluctant to carryout illegal orders, or whose education and experiences tells them something is a danger to our nation, should still be seen as doing their job.  Most Fed employees take a pledge to protect this nation from dangers foreign and domestic.  Whistle blowers are doing just that.  Everyone who completely trusts our government raise your hand, I do not see any hands raised.  I would think that, regardless of interests and ideology you would prefer some suspicion rather than go along to get along of things that can harm us.

As such, I call upon Organized Labor to rally the forces to stand with Federal Public Employees, and I will forward this to those in Organized Labor that I know.  And, any members of a Union reading this to lobby your Union to take action.  This vital to National Stability, and maybe even National Security.

For those anti-Union folks…Who doesn’t have a Union?  Strength in numbers is not a cliché, it is a fact.  OK, let’s do away with all Unions: ABA, AMA, Trade and Business Associations, political parties, sports unions, entertainers unions, our nation is called a Union, religions and churches: any group that people fund to represent their interests and needs, and who can influence government, etc. are Unions of sorts.

On that line of thinking, the Draconian awakens within me to say: OK, you do not have to pay Union dues, but then you are removed from the membership list, and you fend for yourself negotiating with the owners of businesses.  If you do not like what your Union is doing get involved in it, that is after all the American Way to change things, or form your own…. OK, obviously I am getting heated, but the stability of OUR nation, and, as a co-owner responsible for it, is good enough reason to get heated when I see it in jeopardy.  What about you?  Your former Ward 3 City Councilor, Brian Hoose…[email protected]

P.S.  Before I go, to my Republican, Independent, and Democratic voter friends…. I am supporting Gov. Charlie Baker, and Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito for re-election!  I am not getting too involved, but I met with one of their Regional Coordinators to see how I can help.  While I have my disagreements, Gov. Baker has been a very good governor.  His strong stance for immigrants, the environment, solar and wind energy are important to me and to the greater good.  And, he has had the courage to disagree with the President.  I have chatted with Lt. Polito and we share perspectives, especially on how the behaviors, and attitudes in politics have really declined.  So, if you are looking for a bumper sticker, a pin, and, as they are available, a sign let me know; I MAYBE able to help.  Again, thank you for reading this, Brian
