THIS NEW YEAR’S, RESOLVE TO GET MORE INVOLVED IN WESTFIELD
Once again, the New Years holiday is here. It’s a time to celebrate with our friends, family and with people all over the world and for renewing our hopes for the future by building and improving upon the past.
In that context we are very lucky to live here in Westfield, our city that is so full of promise. Though we still face obstacles, I’m very optimistic for our success because of all the involved, civic-minded individuals I see chipping in to build our community. Roads, bridges and buildings don’t make a city great, it’s the energy and participation of its people.
And so I encourage everyone reading this to make a New Year’s resolution to make an extra effort to find a vehicle for delivering your time and talents to Westfield. Many challenging and rewarding opportunities for participation await. Whether it’s joining a local charity, going to PTO meetings, volunteering in our schools, serving on a committee, helping to coach a sports team or getting involved in local politics, there are many ways to satisfy your yearning to contribute. We need and welcome you on our adventure toward creating a more prosperous and vibrant city for everyone.
Happy New Year!
