Tree and broken utility pole cause road closure

WESTFIELD – A tree and a broken utility pole fell on Granville Road on Thursday night causing the road to be blocked.  

The Granville Police Department announced around 7 p.m. on Thursday night that the road had been deemed impassable and would be closed for approximately an hour. Granville police have been assisting the Westfield Police Department with traffic duty at the scene.

According to Granville Police Sgt. Patrick Winslow, there was no motor vehicle accident to cause the situation and no other cause has been determined yet. The road closure occurred just over a quarter mile past the Granville town line into Westfield.
