WESTFIELD – Westfield, Southwick and the Hilltowns have plenty of treats – and perhaps a few tricks – in store for families seeking Halloween fun this weekend.
On Oct. 25, Westfield businesses will open for 26th Mayor’s Office and The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfields Annual Downtown Trick or Treating. Participating merchants will display a sign in their window that “Trick-or-Treaters are Welcome Here” starting at 4 p.m.
On Oct. 26, there are multiple ways to celebrate with spooky fun.
The annual Westfield Lodge of Elks Rag Shag is slated for Oct. 26, stepping off at noon from the lodge at 56 Franklin St. After traversing the downtown streets, participants will return to the lodge for candies and treats as well as a costume contest for kids in several age categories. One boy and one girl will win a bicycle as part of the festivities.
A Walk with the Southwick Spirits takes place at the Old Southwick Cemetery Oct. 26 from 2-4 p.m. Visitors will hear about local personalities from the grave. Guides will take you around to each grave. A $5 donation is suggested.
The Barnyard Spook-tacular & Trunk or Treat at the Gran-Val Schoop in Granville is from 3-8 p.m. Oct. 26.
The free, all-ages event includes trunk or treating, a slightly spooky hayride, games, crafts, costume contest and more.
At dusk enjoy a free outdoor screening of Hocus Pocus & jack-o-lantern display. Costume contest starts at 4 pm.
The Westfield Animal Clinic is hosting its 6th Annual free Pet Halloween Party from 2-4 p.m. at the clinic, 422 North Elm St., Westfield.
The Southern Tri-Town Girl Scouts and the Southwick Park and Recreation Department are hosting the town’s first Trunk-or-Treat Oct. 26.
The event is at Whalley Park on Powder Mill Road from 5-7p.m.
The Huntington Recreation Committee is sponsoring a free Trunk or Treat at the Huntington Library Oct. 26.
From 5:30-6:30 there will be children’s activities in the library, followed by Trunk or Treat from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Come dressed in Halloween costumes and bring a bag for your treats.
The New England Disc Golf Center, 51 John Mason Road in Southwick, is hosting a free Glow Disc & S’Mores event from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 26.
The First United Methodist Church in Westfield is hosting its 3rd Annual Pumpkinfest Oct. 26 from 6-8 p.m. at the church at 16 Court St.
On Oct. 27, All Stars Dance Center and Westfield Funeral Home are teaming up for the 4th Annual Community Trunk or Treat. The free event is from 1-3 p.m. In addition to decorated trunks and candy, the event includes a bike raffle and.
Wyben Union Church is hosting its Trunk or Treat event from 1-3 p.m. at the church at 678 Montgomery Road, Westfield on Oct. 27.
