WESTFIELD-Business owners eager to once again participate in open air events are hopeful that area residents will check out their offerings at a Spring Fling Vendor and Craft Fair on the lawn of the Episcopal Church of the Atonement.
The event, slated May 22 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., is being organized by Tanya Woodbury, owner of a home based crafting business called Woodbury’s Custom Creations. The rain date is May 23 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
“We are very grateful to the Episcopal Church of the Atonement for providing a central and convenient location for our vendors and crafters to showcase their wares,” said Woodbury.
Woodbury noted that shoppers can expect to find a “huge variety” of unique cooking and kitchen products, personalized items for home decor and family celebrations, customized clothing accessories, and skin care.
“Vendors are small business owners that offer distinctive goods made by others,” said Woodbury, adding, “Crafters usually work out of their homes and design and create their own products.”
Woodbury said she is hopeful residents will want to stop by and check out the many “unique items” that cannot be found in department stores.
“I wanted to support local crafters like myself as well as small businesses by providing a venue for them to showcase their products,” said Woodbury. “I also wanted to raise funds for the Paper Mill Elementary School PTO because the pandemic has made it difficult for the PTO to do any in-person fundraisers.”
Woodbury said the PTO will benefit from the event in two ways.
“There was a small charge for a vendor/craft spot that was donated to the PTO,” she said. “We are also hosting a raffle table during the event. Each vendor has graciously donated one of their items to be raffled off.”
Volunteers from the PTO will be selling raffle tickets during the event – six tickets for $5 and 12 tickets for $10.
Woodbury noted that all money raised from the raffle will support the student enrichment programs and special events for the children and families at the school.
“We truly appreciate your support in what has been a very difficult year for everyone,” she said.
Businesses participating in the fair include: Color Street, nail strips; Karla’s Creations, custom wreaths; Calligraphy by Marybeth Reed – trivets, coasters, personalized gifts for weddings, baby showers, birthdays and special occasions; Arbonne, skin care, nutrition, cosmetics; Tastefully Simple, food seasonings, flavor sauces, baking items; Magnabilities Jewelry, interchangeable pendants for necklaces, bracelets and rings; Epicure, meal prep packets, seasonings and silicone bakeware; Pampered Chef, cooking and baking ware; Creative Memories, scrapbooking, and Goodysisters, jewelry.

Woodbury will also have a wide variety of her wood signs available for purchase.
“The protocols put into place are wearing masks, socially distancing, and following clearly marked direction paths,” said Woodbury, adding that all vendors will be spaced six feet apart and will have hand sanitizer available at every booth.
“The Church of the Atonement is an ideal location for the Spring Fling Vendor and Craft Fair as it is already well known for hosting great community events like the Westfield Farmers’ Market and it is in the heart of downtown Westfield where many people drive by or shop,” she said.
Woodbury encourages residents to check out the Facebook page – Spring Fling Vendor and Craft Fair – Outdoor Event – and under “discussion,” each business owner has posted a brief description of their products and have included photos.
