Vernice G. (Blanchard) Stiner

SOUTHWICK – Vernice G. (Blanchard) Stiner, 95, died Monday, May 1, 2017 at home. She was born in Westfield on April 23, 1922 to the late Gerald W. and Ella Mae (Rix) Blanchard. She lived in Westfield all of her life before moving to Southwick 10 years ago. She was a 1940 graduate of Westfield High School. She married her husband Larry in 1943. Vernice worked at American Bosh and worked at the family business Blanchard and Stiner Construction. She also owned and operated the Carriage Shop with her sister Janice, worked for Fiore and Darling and Beltrandi Real Estate Companies. She enjoyed painting, gardening, hooking rugs and square dancing. She was predeceased by her husband Larry L. Stiner in 2002 and her daughter Sherry Kiendzior in 1988. She leaves her daughter Lisa Casey of Westfield and her sister Janice Blanchard of Southwick and Sebastian, FL. She also leaves her grandchildren Guy and Chad Hannum, Chynna Mackey, Cole Casey and Trista Rice.

The funeral for Vernice will be held on Monday May 8th at 2 pm from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
