Victor Franco, Sr.

francoWESTFIELD – Victor Franco, Sr. 73, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2014. He was born on November 18, 1940 in Cayey, Puerto Rico. At the age of 22 he moved to Westfield and was a long life resident.
He worked for the City of Westfield and was one of the first Hispanic’s to settle here. Victor was the founder of the Spanish mass for the parish of St. Mary’s Church, Boys Hispanic Youth Group, the Via Cruxis (the live Stations of the Cross) which is still in existence, and coordinated the Marriage Counseling group. He had a love for the game of baseball and enjoyed watching the Red Sox. In his pastime he enjoyed playing the guitar and singing especially during the Christmas holiday. He had a sense of humor and always made everyone around him laugh and smile.
Victor leaves his beloved wife, Tina of 51 blessed years of marriage and his three children who were the love of his life. Holly Franco-Rosa (husband Jesus Rosa of Southbridge), Victor Franco (wife Marisol Franco of Westfield), Dickson Franco (wife Ivelisse Franco, of Westfield) and his eight beloved grandchildren. Giovanni Ramos- Franco, Gabriel DeLeon, Lucas Franco, Sophia Franco, Solimar Franco and Carina Franco. Victor was a devoted man of God with strong Christian values. He leaves a legacy in which he will always be remembered.
He will be surrounded by his family and friends on Wednesday, May 7th at Firtion-Adams Funeral home in Westfield with calling hours from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, May 8th at St. Mary’s Church in Westfield at 10:30 am.
