Victory Celebration: Berkshire Pulse marks 10 years

GREAT BARRINGTON  – Founded in 2004, Berkshire Pulse is the premiere interdisciplinary dance school in Southern Berkshire County. Its mission is to encourage the healthy social, intellectual, and emotional development of young people through their participation in the performing arts. With an emphasis on diverse and distinctive programming, Pulse offers a year-round calendar of weekly classes, special workshops, and summer intensives to both youth and adults, and provides in-school programs for local students this past year, Pulse completed a capital project that transformed the third floor of 420 Park Street, a former Housatonic textile mill, into a state-of-the-art dance facility. A significant economic development initiative in the Housatonic village, the new studios, allow for more classes, greater efficiency of operation, and enhanced amenities for students.
Two matinee performances take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, and will feature Pulse dancers and drummers of all ages.
“This weekend of performances is an ideal opportunity for the community to celebrate ten wonderful years of Pulse, and for our students to share their talents and hard work with family and friends,” says Bettina Montano, Pulse’s Artistic Director and Founder. “We expect to see a record turnout for these two performances and the special Gala Celebration.”
The Gala Celebration will take place on Saturday, June 6, beginning with cocktails at 6 pm, followed by a special performance at 7 p.m., and food, music and a dance party at 8 p.m. Gala tickets are $100. Matinee tickets are $25 for adults, and $15 for youth age 4-18. Lap children are free.
A silent auction, also at the Daniel Arts Center, precedes and follow the performances and Gala, and will feature an array of unique “experiences,” including a private scenic plane ride, exclusive tours, tickets and other surprises.
“I am so excited to celebrate ten years of Pulse with the Berkshire community,” says Berkshire Pulse Board President Diane Pearlman. “We appreciate everyone who supports us. When you attend the performances, bid in the silent auction, and bring friends to the event, you play an essential role in helping us carry out our mission.”
