Westfield State investing in diversity

WESTFIELD – Westfield State University is a gold sponsor of the upcoming Westfield Spanish American Association 20th Caribbean Gala and Golf Outing held on Saturday, July 11.
Established in 1995, the Westfield Spanish American Association (WSAA) is nonprofit that strives to celebrate Latino heritage and promote Latino culture and education throughout the greater Westfield community. In the past 20 years, the organization has awarded more than $60,000 to Hispanic students pursing higher education.
“Westfield State University is pleased to support the Spanish American Association whose mission aligns with the university’s vision to think globally and encourage diversity,” said Elizabeth Preston, president, Westfield State University.
The golf tournament and gala will be held at Tekoa Country Club on 458 Russell Road in Westfield. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with a tee time of 8 a.m. The cost of participating is $440 per foursome which includes green fees, a golf cart, and one gala pass per team member.
The gala begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour followed by a raffle, dinner, and dancing. Dinner choices include chicken francaise, baked scrod, or prime rib. Formal attire is required. Tickets to attend the gala only are $65.
