Westfield at One with Boston

WESTFIELD- Mayor Daniel M. Knapik announced today that City Hall will have an employee dress down day on Friday, April 26, 2013 with proceeds going to The One Fund Boston organization. Employees are encouraged to wear Boston attire in exchange for a donation to The One Fund. The One Fund was formed by Governor Patrick and Mayor Menino to raise money to help those families most affected by the tragic events that occurred at the April 15th Boston Marathon.
In addition, the Mayor has authorized police officers to wear any Boston sports cap in lieu of the standard uniform cap on Friday, April 26th. “The City of Westfield shares that strong sense of community spirit that Boston knows so well”, Mayor Knapik said. “We understand and appreciate the heartache that follows when a community experiences a tragedy that results in the loss of someone in our community” he continued.
Residents and businesses may also bring a donation payable by check to the Mayor’s office located on the second floor of City Hall, 59 Court Street. Checks should be made out to “The One Fund”. “When events happen beyond our control there is a sense of helplessness.” Mayor Knapik continued. “We can take action by reaching out and offering support and comfort by this small gesture to show that Westfield is at One with Boston.”
