WESTFIELD – The Westfield Horseshoe Club will meet for its traditional organizational meeting on Mon., April 22 at 6 p.m. at the William J. Babinski Memorial Horseshoe Park at the Municipal Playground off Franklin and Greylock streets.
League games are played on Monday evenings at 6 p.m.  Weather permitting, competition is expected to begin May 6 with the season running through the summer to early September.
Come, sign up, be qualified and placed on teams with last years pitchers. A handicap system is utilized so that everyone has a fair chance to win. Players are encouraged to arrive early in order to prepare the clay courts and warm up for competition. Bring along your favorite pair of shoes……or if you need some, the club has extras.  Join up for some healthy exercise and good natured fun “ tossing ringers”.
Horseshoe players, young and not so young, experienced or not so, male or female are invited to partake in this rustic sport and escort the league toward its 100th year of existence. The season concludes with an end-of-the-season banquet get-together to reward its players.
Interested persons can join up Monday or May 6 or call club president Lee Small at 413-667-3628 or secretary/treasurer Bill Babinski at 413-568-5321 for any further information.
