WESTFIELD- Tribute band Chicago Total Access will play a fundraiser concert at the Westfield Technical Academy Friday, April 12 at 7:30m to benefit the Westfield Police Auxiliary.

The idea of a fundraiser concert was brought forward initially by Jay Pagluica, President of Westfield on Weekends. The organization sets up and hosts concerts and events throughout Westfield such as Pumpkinfest, MusicFest, and the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Park Square. Pagluica said that he chose to do a fundraiser for the Police Auxiliary because they are a big part of these events being able to happen.

“There are so many things in Westfield that could not happen without the safety they provide,” said Pagluica, “most, if not all of them, are volunteers.”

Pagluica added that the Police Auxiliary officers often have to purchase their own equipment to work. According to the City of Westfield website, there are 35 volunteer Auxiliary Officers in the Police Department.

Pagluica, along with concert promoter, Paul Lococo, have organized performances for many tribute bands visiting Westfield. In previous years they have worked with Beatlemania, Eaglemania, and Tusk to name a few.

“Chicago Total Access is the best representation I’ve heard of Chicago, complete with their defining big horn sound,” said Lococo, “This 10 piece band delivers everything Chicago is. The show is complete with big venue sound and lighting.”

While Lococo is in charge of organizing and promoting the concert, Pagluica is in charge of the audio and lighting systems. Pagluica has 40 years of experience with technical support for events such as this. Lococo and Pagluica have been working together for eight years.

Leading up to the concert, the organizers are seeking sponsors to help with the fundraising goals.

“Right now, we’re in the middle of trying to solicit more sponsors to help pay for this,” said Pagluica, “If any local businesses are interested, they can contact me about being a sponsor.”

Chicago Total Access is a tribute band based on the band, Chicago. The tribute band consists of 10 musicians with influences of music from the 1940’s to the 1970’s. Tickets for the show can be purchased at the Rocky’s Ace Hardware in Westfield, online at www.purplepass.com, or by calling 800-316-8559.

Westfield on Weekends is also taking part in organizing a Beach Boys tribute band to play a concert in Westfield on May 18 in conjunction with the Westfield 350th birthday weekend celebration.
