MONTAGUE — Police have arrested six people and are looking for a seventh for allegedly kidnapping and beating a homeless Greenfield man in retaliation for a possible assault on a teenage girl.
Gina Artuc, 44, of Old Stage Road, Westfield, was arrested in connection with the kidnapping and was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and threat to commit murder.
Police say 19-year-old Branden Stebbins said he was abducted on Saturday night, brought to a Turners Falls home where he was beaten with baseball bats after a 14-year-old girl identified him as the person who assaulted her.
Police say details of the alleged assault on the girl are unclear as no one has reported it to police.
According to police, Stebbins had his hands duct taped and was thrown in a car. He jumped out in Montague and alerted authorities.
