Wild & scenic tour Windsor Jambs

Wild & Scenic volunteers and representatives from the Westfield River Wild & Scenic Advisory committee shared a tour of the Windsor Jambs given by local historian Jim Kierstesd. They then sat down to a scrumptious potluck held at the magnificent TTOR Notchview reservations with many wonderful dishes.  The Price Chopper in Pittsfield, as well as the Cummington Creamery donated food and supplies to help make the gathering complete. After the potluck the group shared findings and stories collected by the over 70 volunteers working on the river to protect, improve and enjoy the 78 miles of designated Wild & Scenic stretches.   This gathering helps the committee identify areas to focus their time and energy on in the coming year.  A big thanks to all those who were able to join us and to all the many volunteers who have adopted sections and attend our workdays & trainings.  If you were unable to join the festivities but would like to share your ideas and concerns or be put on the email list for future opportunities to learn share and protect the unique Westfield and its tributaries, call or email Meredyth Babcock at 413-623-2070 or [email protected].   Learn more about what it means to be Wild & Scenic at http://www.westfieldriverwildscenic.org
