William M. Casey

CaseyWLADY LAKE, FL – William Michael (Mike) Casey, 66, died Friday at Cornerstone Hospice in The Villages, Lady Lake, Florida. Mike was born at Noble Hospital in Westfield, MA and graduated from the Westfield Trade High School in 1964.
He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Airman/3C William M. “Mike” Casey belonged to the 481st Tactical Fighter Squadron at Tan Son Nhut Airfield, Vietnam. His unit was nicknamed the “Fighting Crusaders.” In less than three months, the Crusaders had logged more than 2,000 combat fly hours. After his Air Force duties were completed he became a private pilot, loved golf, and traveling through this great country, America. Mike had a great life.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Suzanne A. (Newfield) Casey; a brother, Edward P. and sister-in-law Sally; his mother, Edith V. Casey (100 years old on January 5, 2013) resides at Wingate Nursing Home. Mike also leaves two nephews and five nieces and many great friends behind. He will be missed by all who knew him. He will be going back home to Massachusetts where the family will have a memorial service for him in the summer of 2014 with Mike’s final resting place at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, Massachusetts.
