EAST LONGMEADOW: William Michael Sullivan Sr., 91,(1924-2015) husband of Irene (Shaban) Sullivan, died November 14, 2015 at Emeritus At East Longmeadow. William was born on April 28, 1924 in Westfield; a son of the late Timothy and Amelia (Fortier) Sullivan. He was a WW II, U. S. Navy Veteran.
William was the owner of the former William M. Sullivan Inc., Springfield; a building supply company.
William was a resident of Longmeadow since 1971. He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter Christina Mary Sullivan (2005); two brothers, Richard and Paul Sullivan; and a sister, Margaret McGrady. In addition to his wife, William leaves a son and daughter in law, William M. and Therese M. Sullivan Jr. of St. Cloud, Florida; 3 grandchildren, Marissa St. John, Devon Sullivan and Tragan Sullivan; 1 great-grandson, Sawyer St. John; along with nieces, nephews , and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 9:15AM on Tuesday (Dec. 8,2015) beginning at the Forastiere Smith Family Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow, to be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial, celebrated at 10:15AM in St. Mary’s Church, Longmeadow.
Burial will follow in Longmeadow Cemetery, Williams St., Longmeadow. Calling hours will take place in the funeral home from 4:00 PM– 7:00 PM on Monday (Dec. 7, 2015)
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Brightside, 2112 Riverdale St., West Springfield, MA 01089 or to St. Mary’s Church, 519 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow, MA 01106.
