
WESTFIELD – William Thomas Ullrich, Jr., 61, (1963-2025) of Westfield, MA, passed on October 1st of 2025 in his childhood home. He is predeceased by his father William Ullrich, Sr. and his mother Sandra Ullrich.
He will be deeply missed by his son, Nicholas Marcinowski of Hatfield, MA and his sister, Lisa Slavin of Rocky Hill, CT. He also leaves behind five nieces and nephews: Nick, Katie, Julie, Tommy, and Erin.
Billy graduated from Westfield High School and went on to become a well-respected police officer. He started his police career on Martha’s Vineyard before returning to his hometown of Westfield Massachusetts as a career police officer. He founded the Citizens Police Academy in the 1990s as a community policing initiative to connect civilians with the local police department. He served many years on the Westfield Police Force before retiring at age 59. Billy loved to work on his cars, enjoyed trying new foods, watching football, Charlie Brown and Snoopy, and being with friends and family. He was a well-known figure throughout Westfield and will truly be missed.
A wake will be held at his memorial on Friday, October 10th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield.
