Winter market shines a light on spring plantings

WESTFIELD-Ready for spring gardening?
For persons with a green thumb, a representative from Kelly’s Home & Garden will discuss ways to start seedlings and how to prepare a garden for spring planting at the fourth and final Westfield Winter Farmers’ Market on Feb. 10 inside the Episcopal Church of the Atonement on Court Street. Market hours are 10 a.m. to. 3 p.m.
“There will be approximately 25 vendors, a full house of farmers, canned and baked goods, crafts, and live music by Rua Bhean and “Whiskey Traveler,” said Deborah Randzio, one of the market’s managers.
Randzio added that new vendors to the market include B’s Breads, Jeff Bellefleur with chainsaw art, and Feedbag Totes, as well as The Runamuck Baker, specializing in gluten-free and celiac-free baked goods.
“Thanks to a generous donation, we are still offering a $5 match to all SNAP customers, and we have two vendors who participate in the HIP program for SNAP customers, offering money back on fresh fruits and vegetables,” said Randzio.
For more information on the market, call (413) 562-5461, ext. 101, or send an email to [email protected]. Vendor applications for the coming market season are also available at westfieldfarmersmarket.net.
