WESTFIELD – A West Springfield woman was arrested early Sunday morning after she allegedly struck another woman in the forehead with her stiletto heeled shoe.
Westfield Officer Joshua Krassler reports that he responded to a report of a large fight in the parking lot of Whip City Pub at 287 North Elm Street. There he found a woman with lacerations on her forehead and “blood running down her face” who said that she had been struck in the forehead with a high-heeled shoe wielded by a woman who was still in the parking lot.
Krassler reports that the victim identified her assailant, a woman subsequently identified by her driver’s license as Anani A. Abas, 21, of 47 River St., West Springfield.
The officer reports the suspect’s high heeled shoes were seized as evidence and reports there were blood stains on the heel of the right shoe.
The victim was treated at the scene by Westfield Fire Department personnel and transported to Baystate Noble Hospital where, Krassler reports, “The victim received 11 stitches on her forehead just above the nose as a result of this assault.”
Abas was arrested and on Monday was arraigned in Westfield District Court on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault with intent to maim.
The criminal complaint alleges that Abas “on 03/25/2018 did assault, with the malicious intent to maim or disfigure such person by hitting the victim in the forehead with a high heeled shoe.”
Abas was released on $100 cash bail pending a June 1 hearing.
