WSU to hold Instant Acceptance Days

WESTFIELD – The Division of Graduate and Continuing Education at Westfield State University is proud to announce a new Instant Acceptance Days initiative with its Massachusetts’ community college partners. At these events, community college graduates (or soon-to-be graduates) will be able to have their admissions materials reviewed on the spot, at no cost, and will be given an immediate acceptance decision.
The Division of Graduate and Continuing Education offers courses leading to all undergraduate degrees at Westfield State University. Depending upon the program, students may complete their degree online, in the evening, or through a combination of evening and day courses. Representatives from the University will visit the local community colleges – Springfield Technical Community College, Holyoke Community College, Berkshire Community College, and Greenfield Community College – in October, November, and December to meet with prospective students about their applications. Students are asked to bring an official, sealed copy of their college transcripts in order to be reviewed. (Certain programs may not be eligible for instant acceptance decisions. Also, students who have taken college-level coursework outside of the Massachusetts community college system may require additional materials for review and may not be eligible for instant acceptance days.)
Eligible students are Massachusetts community college graduates or students who are currently completing their final semesters at a Massachusetts community college. Students participating in the MassTransfer program are also eligible. Westfield State University participates in the MassTransfer program, a statewide transfer policy. MassTransfer provides community college students who complete approved associate degrees under the policy with the benefits of the full transfer and applicability of credit and guaranteed admission. Furthermore, the policy provides any student in the Massachusetts public higher education system the intermediate goal of completing a portable transfer block (“MassTransfer Block”) which satisfies general education/distribution/core requirements across institutions.
Instant Acceptance Days will be held at Springfield Technical Community College on October 2, November 6, and December 4; at Holyoke Community College on October 9, November 13, and December 3; at Berkshire Community College on October 22, November 12, and December 10; and at Greenfield Community College on November 20 and December 11. All visits will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Students interested in participating in Instant Acceptance Days can RSVP at the Division of Graduate and Continuing Education’s website, www.GoBackNow.com. Alternatively, students may meet with the DGCE admissions team on a walk-in basis on their schools’ respective dates.
