HOLYOKE – In football, a 10-0 win would be a solid shutout. In baseball, that same score would be an onslaught. The words to describe that margin of victory in a hockey game, well, that would best be left to the Longmeadow (WHS Co-Op) girls ice hockey team.
On Saturday, Longmeadow obliterated Leominster 10-0 at Fitzpatrick Arena behind a hat trick from Jordan Kowalski, a plethora of offense from her skate mates, and a debilitating effort from the Lancers’ defense.
Lexi Pfalzgraf (2 goals, 1 assist), Kyra Ashe (1 goal, 2 assists) and Skyler McComas (3 assists) also had three points apiece for Longmeadow. Ashley Barron, Katelyn Joyal, Taylor Markstein, and Brigitte Goeler-Slough each had a goal. Teaghan Hall had two assists, and Jillian Croteau had one.
Longmeadow goalies’ Kayla Brown (1 save) and McKenzie Rae (4 saves) earned a combined shutout.
