Hearing set for medical marijuana dispensary

WESTFIELD – A public hearing is set for March 15 for Westfield-based Heka Health, a company with plans to open a medical marijuana dispensary in the city.
The hearing will take place during the Westfield City Council meeting at 7 p.m. The hearing agenda includes site plan approval and stormwater management waiver to allow for a medical marijuana dispensary at 98 Sgt. Dion Way.
An application was filed in November of 2015 with the Commonwealth by Westfield resident and business owner Mark A. Dupuis. A business address of 48 Elm St., Suite 3 was given for the hearing.

The Registered Agent on file for this company is Mark A. Dupuis. The company’s principal address at the time of incorporation was 120 Woodcliff Drive, Westfield.
The company has two principals on record – Mark A. Dupuis from Westfield and Mark S. Dupuis from Huntington Beach, CA.
The applications lists Westfield Investing Group LLC (WIG), managed by Curtis S. Gezotis, director of Heka, as a Related Party Transaction. WIG is a lender to Heka and will own real property Heka will lease for two dispensary locations.
CEO Mark A. Dupuis owns the building that Heka anticipates using. Information provided on the application by Mark A. Dupuis states that he has spent his entire adult life as an executive with extensive experience in founding, developing and operating highly regulated and successful industrial service, processing and manufacturing businesses from 1998-2015. He founded Lifecycle Management Co., International Metal Corp. in Chicopee, and was a director of Amelia Park Children’s Museum and fund raising committee member for Westfield Youth Hockey Assoc.
Mark S. Dupuis, head of cultivation, will be providing technology and intellectual property to Heka. He moved from Westfield to California after graduating Westfield High School in 2005 to pursue his interest in the medical marijuana industry and now has a decade of experience specific to the cultivation of medical marijuana, states the application.
COO Joseph P. Keenan, MD  will be in charge of overseeing Seed to Sale operations, according to Mark A. Dupuis’ statement. He has been a physician for over 40 years and currently has admitting privileges at Baystate Noble, Holyoke Hospital and Holyoke Medical Center. He has been an assistant professor of surgery  at UConn medical school for 36 years
Deane P. Gallo is listed as the head of security and has 28 years experience in Law enforcement with the Town of Monson.
The Marijuana Infused Products Heka plans to produce include hashes/concentrations, tinctures, capsules/pills, edible products, among others.
