Harold M. Bannish

flagWESTFIELD- Harold M. “Bud” Bannish, 85, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016 at Noble Hospital. He was born in Westfield to the late John and Josephine (Krupa) Bannish and was a lifelong resident there. He attended local schools and was a 1949 graduate of Westfield High School and attended Holy Cross College. Harold Proudly served his country with the United States Army during Korea. He worked with his father at Bannish Lumber Company in Westfield and in 1972 started Bannish Lumber Inc. with his brother, Richard in Chester where he worked closely with his wife and three sons. He was passionate about his work at the sawmill and was very dedicated to his many loyal customers. He was highly respected in the lumber industry throughout the world. The only thing Bud loved more than working at the sawmill, was spending time with his wife, kids and grandkids. He was a member of the American Legion and was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his beloved wife Marlene K. (Laduzenski) Bannish of Westfield, his loving children, Samantha St. John and her husband Dwayne of Belton, TX, Matthew Bannish and his wife Beverly, Thaddeus Bannish and his wife Laurie and Aaron Bannish and his wife Becky, all of Westfield, his sister Dorothy Bannish of Brooklyn, NY, nine cherished grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Seth Bannish and his brother Richard Bannish. His funeral will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. from the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St, Westfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, Elm St. Westfield, MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
