GIRLS SOCCER
St. Mary’s Lady Saints 5, Franklin Tech 0
St. Mary’s (5-0-1) came away with a shutout win in the final game a five-game road trip.
Emma Goodreau lit up the scoreboard with four goals. Allie Goodreau added a goal as well. Emma Bialas and Nadia Podolyanchuck each had an assist respectively. Amelia Willenborg posted a shutout in net with two saves.
“I am really proud of the girls, playing five straight road games early on is a huge challenge,” St. Mary’s coach Patrick Olearcek said. “We came out of it with five straight wins which is fantastic. Our offense is really pounding the shots around the net and our defense bends a bit but we have really done a great job limiting the other team’s scoring chances.”
St. Mary’s has overcome some adversity as well along the way.
“We have had a lot of games in a short period of time and are battling some nagging injuries, but these girls continue to give everything they have. They have developed a great team bond as well which is awesome to see!” Coach at Olearcek added.
