12:21 a.m.: accident, Union Avenue at Union Street, State Police reports a trooper is assisting with a vehicular crash, the responding officer reports he found that a pickup truck had come to rest partially atop a traffic island, the officer reports that the operator said that a vehicle operating in front of him braked and when he locked up his brakes to avoid a collision his truck skidded onto the traffic island, the officer noted that the man appeared to be intoxicated and acknowledged that he had been drinking, the man failed a field sobriety test, Patrick R. O’Brien, 45, of 35 Greenwood St., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation;
12:45 a.m.: parking violation, Spring Street, a patrol officer reports he issued a snow emergency parking ban violation citation was issued, similar citations were issued on Summer Street, George Street, Frederick Street, Miller Street (2), Otis Street, Fowler Street, William Street (2), St. Paul Street, Sycamore Street, Hanover Street, (2), East Bartlett Street (8), Woronoco Avenue (2), Pearl Street (2), Noble Avenue, Cortez Street (2), Morris Avenue, Shepard Street, Woodsong Road (2), Flynn Meadow Road, Atwater Street, Dartmouth Street (2), Lincoln Street, Eastwood Drive, Linden Avenue, Taylor Avenue (3), Collins Street and Adams Street;
3:25 a.m.: assist resident, Main Line Drive, a patrol officer reports he afforded a female resident a courtesy transport to an Elm Street service station;
5:33 a.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, a caller from a Springfield Road department store requests an officer to assist with a juvenile shoplifter caught in the act of shoplifting merchandise valued at more than $850, the responding officer reports the store management had already contacted the suspect’s parents and wants the boy to be both criminally charged and served with a ‘No trespassing’ order, the boy’s father arrived at the store and after he spoke with the management the criminal charge was dropped, the boy was served with the ‘No trespassing’ order and left with his father;
10:45 a.m.: parking violation, Woodmont Street, a patrol officer reports that the owner of a vehicle ticketed for violation of the snow emergency parking ban came outside and advised that it is inoperable, the car was towed to the police impound yard, a vehicle which had not been moved after it was ticketed earlier on East Bartlett Street was also towed;
1:58 p.m.: recreational vehicle complaint, Pochassic Road, a caller from CSX Railroad reports that two snowmobiles are parked so close to the track that they would be struck by a passing train, the responding officer reports he found a man who said that his snowmobile broke down and he was working to remove it, the machines were moved out of harm’s way and the owner was advised of the prohibition of trespassing on railroad property;
3:00 p.m.: identity fraud, Evergreen Manor, 919 Southampton Road, a resident came to the station to complain that a mobile telephone account was fraudulently opened in his name;
7:09 p.m.: assist other agency, Arnold Street municipal parking lot, the city’s parking clerk requests assistance with vehicles parked in the Arnold Street municipal lot which are impeding snow removal operations, the responding officer reports six snow emergency parking ban violation citations were issued and one vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
8:09 p.m.: assist other agency, Thomas Street municipal parking lot, the city’s parking clerk requests assistance with vehicles parked in the Thomas Street municipal lot which are impeding snow removal operations, the responding officer reports three snow emergency parking ban violation citations were issued and five vehicles were towed to the police impound yard;
9:18 p.m.: assist other agency, Franklin Street municipal parking lot, the city’s parking clerk requests assistance with vehicles parked in the Franklin Street municipal lot which are impeding snow removal operations, the responding officer reports two snow emergency parking ban violation citations were issued and two vehicles were towed to the police impound yard.
