12:12 a.m.: officer wanted, Arnold Street, officers report they were flagged down on Arnold Street, the officers report they assisted staff at an Arnold Street bar serve a person with a ‘No trespassing’ order, the man was provided a courtesy transport to an Elizabeth Avenue address;
12:29 a.m.: disturbance, North Cherry Street, a caller reports a fight in progress, the responding officers report about 150 people were dispersed from a college-aged party, two female parties were provided a courtesy transport to the Westfield State University campus;
1:58 a.m.: disturbance, Summer Street, a caller reports people fighting in the street, the responding officer reports that a woman said that she was punched by a man she knows only by a first name who fled the area, a man on the scene said that the man accidentally punched the woman while trying to punch him, a search of the area did not yield a suspect;
2:54 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the operator’s license was found to be revoked and the car was towed to the police impound yard;
2:59 a.m.: assist other police department, Westfield Police Department, 15 Washington St., Westfield State University police request the use of a cell for a male prisoner, a cell monitor was provided;
6:23 a.m.: well-being check, Elm Street, a caller reports a pedestrian who appears to be highly intoxicated is drifting into the roadway while attempting to walk northbound on Elm Street, the responding officer reports the man was provided a courtesy transport to a Maple Street address;
4:10 p.m.: assist citizen, Main Street, a patrol officer reports he was flagged down by a woman who said that a person in her vehicle is unwelcome but refuses to leave, the officer reports the woman said that the man is her live-in boyfriend and she wants him to leave her Russell home as well, the officer advised the woman to seek a restraining order at Westfield District Court, the man exited the woman’s vehicle and agreed to stay out of it;
4:52 p.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, a caller from a Springfield Road department store reports a shoplifter left the store with merchandise he did not pay for and left the parking lot in a described vehicle, the responding officer reports the car was stopped at the entrance to the parking lot and the store employee joined the officer, the employee said that he had confronted the man as he left and the man surrendered two necklaces but is believed to have retained other merchandise, a search of the suspect and the vehicle did not reveal additional merchandise but marijuana was found in plain sight in two locations in the car, city ordinance violation citations were issued to both the operator and the suspect;
4:57 p.m.: vandalism, St. Paul St., a resident reports via the online reporting option that a window of his pickup truck was smashed, the complainant said that he looked out a window when he heard a noise and saw two persons running away;
10:58 p.m.: parking violation, William Street, a patrol officer reports a citation was issued for a vehicle parked on the street in violation of the snow emergency parking ban, similar citations were issued on Sherman Street (2), Hanover Street, East Bartlett Street and State Street.
