1:05 a.m.: vandalism, Perkins Street, a caller reports that another person’s tires were slashed by a third party he identified, the responding officer reports the owner of the vehicle said that she had noticed footprints around her car hours earlier and subsequently realized that the passenger side tires were nearly flat, the officer observed the tires but did not see any indication that they had been slashed, the woman told the officer that she believes her former boyfriend may have deflated the tires after recent issues, there were no witnesses and no apparent damage to the tires;
8:45 a.m.: vandalism, Main Street, an off duty supervisory officer reports the front window of a vacant storefront had been shattered, the dispatcher made contact with a real estate agent associated with the property who said he will deal with the issue;
8:50 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Woodmont Street, a patrol officer reports a car is parked on the street in violation of the snow emergency parking ban, a citation was issued, similar action was also taken on Carpenter Avenue, Lincoln Street (3) and Sycamore Street;
11:05 a.m.: annoying phone calls, Prospect Street Extension, a resident came to the station to complain of threatening text messages and phone calls, the responding officer reports the complainant identified the source of the communications and said that he does not wish to pursue criminal charges but wants the messages to stop, the officer spoke with the other party and advised him to cease contact with the complainant and his girlfriend, the officer advised the suspect that he could be liable for criminal charges if he continues to contact the caller and he advised the caller to keep a record of any messages received;
12:40 p.m.: traffic complaint, North Elm Street, a caller reports a tractor trailer unit is stuck on Clay Hill, the DPW was notified and dispatched a sander, the responding officer reports Clay Hill was closed at 12:54 p.m. and not reopened until 1:20 p.m. after plows and sanders had treated the roadway;
5:06 p.m.: officer wanted, Moseley Avenue, a resident came to the station to complain that he spoke with a person who is plowing snow on to his property but he continues to do so, the responding officer reports he spoke with man in question and advised him of the relevant city ordinance, the man agreed to stop pushing snow on to the caller’s property, the officer reports he also spoke with the caller about unregistered vehicles on his property;
6:46 p.m.: assist other agency, municipal parking lot, Arnold Street, the city parking clerk requests assistance with vehicles impeding snow removal efforts in the municipal lot, the responding officer reports three citations were issued and one vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
8:29 p.m.: officer wanted, General Shepard Apartments, 25 Thomas St., a caller reports his firearms identification card is expired and asks that an officer take custody of his guns, the responding officer reports two firearms were stored pending proper disposal;
9:33 p.m.: officer wanted, Lincoln Street, a female caller reports than a man looking in her window triggered her motion sensor lights, the responding officer reports the woman said that she saw a man crouched in her back yard who fled, the officer reports he had observed a person who fit the description the woman provided entering a nearby residence when he arrived, the officer reports the man verbally identified himself but produced neither documentation nor a social security number which could be verified, the man was advised to stay away from his neighbor’s property, see next entry;
10:30 p.m.: suspicious activity, Lincoln Street, a caller reports she was advised that a man had been seen stealing something from her house, the responding officer reports he observed a vehicle operating without headlights and stopped the car, the operator was found to be a person police had spoken with a short time earlier, the man said that he had never been licensed, Scott Schrader, 31, of 81 Highland Ave., was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a motor vehicle lights violation.
