WESTFIELD: 
Ethel V. (Hooey) Cortis, 89, passed away at Genesis Health Care on February 2, 2016. She was born in Springfield to the late Henry R. and Ethel G. (Loveland) Hooey and attended Ludlow High School. Ethel was employed as a cook for Friendly’s Restaurant and Great Oaks Restaurant for many years, a waitress at the Coffee Den and in her later life was an antique dealer with her husband. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley L. Cortis in 2008 and a brother Howard R. Hooey. Ethel is survived by her loving children, David S. Cortis and his wife Sandi of Easthampton, Keith H. Cortis and his wife Martie of Russell, Kevin L. Cortis and his wife Darlene of Westfield, Carl L. Cortis and his wife Luanne of Michigan and Lucille A. Cortis of Westfield, her brother, Raymond R. Hooey and his wife Gladys of Caribou, 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Her family would like to thank the staff at Genesis at Westfield Center for the care and support given to Ethel and her family. A Funeral home service will be held on Friday at 7PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA 01085. Visiting hours will be precede the service from 5-7 PM. Burial will be held in the spring in Russell Cemetery, Russell. Donations in Ethel’s name may be directed to the charity of one’s choice. Firtionadams.com
