SOUTHWICK – Skyline Hop Shop is planning a move this summer to a downtown Westfield location.
The new space, at 124 Elm St., will allow owners Daniel Osella and Lisa Pac to expand their offerings.
“Due to the limited space at our current location, we have found it difficult to keep up with the demand for our fresh baked pretzels and bread,” said Osella, Skyline’s chef.
The business partners opened their eatery and home brew shop in 2014 and are happy to bring thir business to their hometown.
“Expanding now will be great asset to downtown Westfield,” said Osella. “We look forward to being a part of the growth of the city we grew up in.”
With more space and expanded bakery offerings, Skyline will be able to serve more customers. The company is also exploring options for product distribution.
“We are looking for one or two breweries or beer halls that might be interested in serving our pretzels to their customers,” Osella said. “Our pretzels and bread are made using spent grains leftover from the brewing process.”
New tasty products will include Sicilian style pan pizza and monkey bread made with the same spent grain dough as the pretzels. The menu will also feature soup, salad, chili, fresh baked sandwiches and other fresh baked goodies.
Osella strives to use the freshest, most local ingredients possible.
Pac will continue to run a full service home brew supply store and will also introduce a small craft beer bar that will be a perfect pairing with Osella’s bakery.
Pac is also exploring the option of adding a small brewery. With the expanded space, she will be able to offer more options for home brew classes, and Osella will be introducing a series of baking and cooking classes.
The new Skyline Hop Shop will be shifting to baker’s hours.
“We will have an assortment of breakfast and lunch options,” Osella said, with hours of 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday planned.
Pac will offer home brew classes twice a month.
“We are hoping to be open for June 1st. However, this is not set in stone yet,” said Osella.
