WESTFIELD – Three local high school sports teams snuck in games Saturday after a prolonged delay this week due to inclement weather. The results were mixed.

BOYS’ LACROSSE
Bombers clip VC
Westfield 11, Valley Central 10

Mason Balch (3 goals, 3 assists), Zach Gentle (3 G, 1A), and Matt Chlastawa (2 G, 1 A) led the Westfield offense. Bombers’ goalie Matt Reynolds made 14 saves.

SOFTBALL
Moniz, Bombers prevail
Westfield 3, Taconic 1

Hayley Moniz pitched a complete-game two-hitter, allowing just one run and striking out four batters to help propel Westfield to an opening day victory Saturday at home.
Moniz also had a hit and scored a run.

Grace Barnes (RBI, run scored), Morgan Zabielski, and Casey Almeida each collected a hit; Nicole Clemente drove in a run; and Brit Kowalski (run) and Lindsey Kiltonic scored one run apiece.

BASEBALL
Bleakley shuts down Saints
Granby 7, St. Mary 2

Noah Bleakley scattered four hits and recorded eight strikeouts in silencing the St. Mary bats.
St. Mary’s Billy Lamirande went 2-for-3 with an RBI for St. Mary. Jacob Butler (double, run) and Billy Lamirande (2-for-3, RBI), and Hunter Authier had the only other hits for the Saints.
